4 key roles parents play in education

Nurturers-– This role focuses on the parent’s involvement with children’s physical, moral, intellectual, emotional and social development.

Advisors– Establishing effective two-way communication between the home and school is this role’s focus.

Supporters- This role focuses on parents obtaining skills and knowledge that will assist them with their children’s education and social development. 

Collaborators- In this role, parents participate with school staff and educators to help solve problems, make decisions and develop policies that make the school system more responsive to families.
